Willoughby Hart Historic District

Justice for 441 Willoughby began as a group of concerned neighbors setting out to preserve and protect a beloved building and community space. After the illegal demolition of the building, we re-focused our efforts and are currently setting out to landmark the two blocks surrounding the site. The fight exemplifies the complicated, messy, beautiful nature of Brooklyn as we navigate policy, gentrification, and community politics. Our efforts have been endorsed by Chi Ossé, Jabari Brisport, and Stefani Zinerman and covered thoroughly by outlets like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and CBS.
